This easy Blueberry Martini is such a refreshing and flavorful martini made with fresh blueberries, vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup. It works just as well for a fruity summer cocktail or just a simple drink to enjoy for an at-home happy hour.

Fruity martini cocktails are so widely loved, and I include myself into the group. From a simple Aperol Martini to a more unusual sparkling Peach Martini Bellini, there’s so many different variations you can try and this Blueberry Martini ranks high on my list of favorite cocktails.

Ingredient Notes and Suggestions

Blueberries – You can use fresh or frozen blueberries, but for a garnish fresh would be more aesthetically pleasing.
Simple syrup – You can buy simple syrup, but it so easy to make and wayyyyy cheaper. Simply combine equal parts granulated sugar and water and heat on the stovetop or in the microwave until the sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally. Allow to cool, and there you have it!
Vodka – Use your favorite brand of vodka. You can also use a flavored vodka, like a citron vodka or a blueberry vodka.
Triple sec – I always recommend getting a high quality triple sec such as Cointreau if your budget allows. It truly has so much more flavor than your basic triple sec.
Lemon juice – Freshly squeezed citrus juice always yields a better tasting cocktail. When I’m making just one cocktail, I will just use a hand juicer. If I’m making a big batch, then I use my electric citrus juicer.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Add the blueberries and simple syrup to an empty cocktail shaker.

Step 2: Muddle the blueberries until the juices have been completely released. Then, add the vodka and triple sec to the shaker.

Step 3: Finally, add the lemon juice and ice cubes. Shake until well chilled.

Step 4: Strain into a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a cocktail pick of blueberries if desired.
Expert Tips
If you don’t want there to be any blueberry pulp in your cocktail, double strain the drink through a small fine mesh strainer when you pour into your martini glass.
If you want an extra refreshing cocktail, chill your glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before making the cocktail. You can also add ice water to the glass while you shake up your drink and pour out the ice water right before pouring your cocktail.
Variations
For a deep blue color, try using blue curacao instead of triple sec as it also has an orange flavor. I did this with my Blue Mojito for bright pop of blue. You can also try swapping your vodka out for my butterfly pea flower infused vodka.
For a floral flavor, swap the simple syrup for elderflower syrup or St. Germain liqueur.
For a sweeter cocktail, increase the amount of simple syrup and/or dip the rim of the glass in some lemon juice, then roll in granulated sugar for a sugar rim.
How to Make a Big Batch for a Crowd
Muddle your blueberries in a large pitcher with a wooden spoon or puree them in a food processor or blender. Then add the rest of the ingredients to the pitcher. If serving right away, pour each serving into a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into the martini glasses.
Prepping a Big Batch Ahead for a Crowd
If not serving right away, store the pitcher in the fridge for up to 1 day in advance. Since it’s already chilled, you don’t have to use a cocktail shaker before serving, but you should definitely give it a good stir as the blueberry puree will settle at the bottom of the pitcher.
