If you're like me and love a vibrant twist on a classic martini, this recipe will be your new go-to. It's a delicious blend of sweet and tart that feels like you've been whisked away on a tropical vacation.
Extra passion fruit half and/or edible flowers for garnish
Instructions
Split the fruit in half and scoop the flesh and seeds into an empty cocktail shaker.
Add the vanilla vodka, passion fruit liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
Add ice and shake until well chilled.
Strain into a martini glass and garnish if desired.
Notes
The passion fruit seeds are edible and only a few usually slip through the cocktail strainer. If you prefer a seedless martini, you can pour the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer when straining into the martini glass. Can't find fresh passion fruit? Try one of these:
1 tablespoon of passion fruit puree
1 teaspoon of concentrate for a stronger flavor
2 tablespoons of nectar (and reduce the syrup for sweetness)
Want to prep ahead? Mix fresh passion fruit, vanilla vodka, liqueur, lime juice, and syrup in a large pitcher. When you're ready, shake it up individually with ice and your desired amount of the cocktail for a fresh, chilled martini every time.Make your own simple syrup: Heat equal parts water and sugar in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Allow it to cool, pour into an airtight container, and keep in the fridge for up to 2-3 weeks.
