Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounce butterfly pea flower infused vodka or gin (like Empress 1908 or homemade infusion)
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur
  • ¾ ounce lemon juice
  • 1 pinch edible glitter or ½ teaspoon glitter icing (optional)
  • Lemon peel and/or toy spider for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Add vodka or gin, orange liqueur, lemon juice (*see notes), and edible glitter (if using) to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well.
  • Strain into a coupe or other cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon peel and/or plastic toy spider on the rim.

Notes

*Lemon juice in "potion" bottles
  • If you're feeling extra, you can leave out the lemon juice until the very end. You can add the lemon juice to a old vintage bottle or vial (available at most craft stores) and have guests pour over top of the finished cocktail to watch the color shift, which is subtle but pretty.
Big batch measurements:
For 8 cocktails:
  • 1 ½ cup butterfly pea flower vodka or gin
  • 1 cup orange liqueur
  • ¾ cup lemon juice
  • 1 heaping tablespoon glitter icing or 2 large pinches of powdered edible glitter (optional)
Tips and instructions for a batch:
  • Add all ingredients to a large pitcher or punch bowl and stir well to combine.
  • If serving immediately, pour the cocktail into glasses filled with ice.
    • Alternatively, pour portions into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake before serving.
  • You can prepare this up to 1 day in advance and keep it chilled in the fridge.
  • Stir well before serving, as any glitter may settle at the bottom.
  • For the lemon juice “potion” option:
    • Leave the lemon juice out until ready to serve.
    • Add the lemon juice right before serving, either in one big pour into the pitcher or let guests add individual vials to their own cocktails.
