Lychee Margarita Recipe

If you love a good tropical twist to your cocktails, you are going to love this Lychee Margarita. It's super simple to make but feels like an exotic vacation.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ ounce tequila (blanco or silver)
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce lychee puree (from 1 can lychees in syrup - recipe follows see notes for how to make)
  • Lychee fruit and/or lime slices for garnish  (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Pre-step: Make the lychee puree from the can of lychees per the instructions in the notes. 
  • Add the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and lychee puree in a cocktail shaker.
  • Add ice and shake until well chilled. 
  • Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish, if desired.

Notes

Lychee puree
  • 1 cup canned lychees, drained
  • ¼ cup lychee syrup from the can
Blend the canned lychees with the reserved lychee syrup from the can until completely smooth. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Or, freeze in an ice cube tray and when completely frozen add to a freezer bag and keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. 
Tip: For a smoother puree without pulp, put the puree through a fine mesh sieve before storing it in the fridge.
