Ingredients

  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • 2 ounces gin
  • ½ ounce lime juice
  • 3 -4 ounces tonic water
  • Extra whole blueberries and/or lime slice for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Add the blueberries to the bottom of a cocktail glass. Muddle them with a cocktail muddler or wooden spoon until all of their juices have been released.
  • Add the gin, lime juice, and ice cubes. Then, top with tonic water.
  • Give it a good stir, moving the spoon up and down as you stir to evenly distribute the ingredients.

Notes

Tips:
  • For a sweeter cocktail, add simple syrup. Or, if you’re using a tonic syrup, increase the amount used.
  • To make it more sour or tart, increase the lemon juice.
For a batch of 8:
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 2 cups gin
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • 3-4 cups tonic water (24-32 ounces)
  • Extra whole blueberries and/or lime slices for garnish (optional)
To make the batch/make ahead:
  • Muddle the blueberries in a large pitcher with a long wooden spoon.
  • Then, add your gin and lime juice and chill in the fridge for up to 1 day in advance.
  • When it’s time to serve, top with the tonic water and stir very well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
  • Opt to add your ice to your cocktail glasses, not the pitcher as not to dilute the drink.
