This cocktail requires just 3 ingredients and a few minutes to whip up! It’s the perfect balance of sweet and sour making it as delicious as it is easy to make!
Lemon slice and/or basil leaves for garnish(optional)
Instructions
Add the vodka, lemon juice, and basil simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake until well chilled.
Garnish with a lemon slice and/or basil leaves if desired.
Notes
Ingredients for basil simple syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh basil, loosely packed.
Instructions for syrup:
Combine the water and sugar and heat over the stovetop or in the microwave. Stir every so often to help dissolve the sugar.
Once it’s fully dissolved, remove from heat and add the fresh basil leaves.
Allow the syrup to completely cool, remove the basil leaves, and store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks in the fridge.
Batching and Making AheadMultiply the ingredient amounts by how many servings you want. To make things easier, here are the measurements for serving 8:
1 ½ cups citron vodka
¾ cup lemon juice
1 cup basil simple syrup
Mix the vodka, lemon juice, and basil simple syrup in a large pitcher. To serve a batch right away:If you’re serving right away, add the mixture to a cocktail shaker in batches with ice and shake until well chilled. Then, you can strain into individual glasses. Repeat as necessary.Making a batch ahead;If you’re not serving right away, store the pitcher in the fridge for up to 1 day in advance. Since it’ll already be chilled, you don’t have to use the cocktail shaker method, but be sure to stir well before serving.
