This Blue Mermaid Water Margarita is a refreshing and visually stunning cocktail that combines the flavors of blue curaçao, coconut tequila, pineapple, and lime, with a touch of glitter for added teal shimmer.
Add the coconut tequila, blue curacao, and juices to a cocktail shaker.
Add a pinch of edible glitter and ice cubes. Shake until well chilled.
Strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish with lime slices, if using.
Notes
To make a batch of 8 margaritas:
1 ½ cups coconut tequila
1 cup blue curaçao
½ cup lime juice
1 ½ cups pineapple juice
2-3 large pinches of edible glitter (optional)
Lime slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions + tips for a big batch:
Add the coconut tequila, blue curacao, juices and edible glitter to a large pitcher.
Stir well and chill - can be made in advance up to 1 day in advance.
Add the lime slices to the pitcher (if using) just before serving as the pith in the lime can give off a slight bitter flavor when soaked in liquid for a long period of time.
Stir well again prior to serving.
Tip: Avoid adding ice to the pitcher as not to dilute the cocktail. Instead allow the ice in the cocktail glasses do the chilling or if you’re outside, you can nestle the pitcher in a large bucket of ice to keep cool without dilution.
