How to Make Mashed Potatoes Ahead of Time

make-ahead mashed potatoes

Thanksgiving day can be stress enough but there are a few things  that you can definitely make ahead. Mashed potatoes are one of those dishes! Now let's make your holiday less stressful!

Prep Time: 35min

Ingredients

-Red Skin Potatoes -Butter –Milk –Garlic cloves –Fresh rosemary –Fresh sage –Salt and pepper

Cover the potatoes with at least 1 inch of water. Boil the potatoes for about 25 minutes or until easily pierced with a fork.

Step 1

While potatoes boil, infuse the butter and milk with garlic and herbs in a small sauce pot over low-medium.

Step 2

Drain the potatoes and strain the butter-milk mixture. Add the butter-milk mixture to the potatoes and mash.

Step 3

Keep  for 1-2 days in the fridge. When ready to reheat, put a heat-proof bowl of the potatoes over a pot of simmering water  and stir occasionally until reheated.

Step 4

If they begin to look a little dry, add in more milk as needed until they’re silky smooth again.
