Hot toddies have been around for centuries. They’re usually drunk as nightcaps on cold evenings or when someone is feeling under the weather.
They’re typically made from whiskey, hot water, and honey as a basic recipe, but I’ve seen variations using apple cider (like mine) or even tea as well.

01
Heat apple cider on the stovetop or in the microwave. Add honey to apple cider and stir until honey is dissolved.
02
Pour honey cider mixture into a mug or heatproof cup. Add bourbon.
03
Add the cinnamon stick, and fill the remainder of the cup with hot water.
04
Top with an apple slice if using. Stir and serve immediately.
